Gairal Forest Lodge
Book Online

After the Dhikala rest house, the Gairal Rest House is the best forest house in the Dhikala region. This location is a priceless jewel that is tucked away in the middle of nature, far from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is around 40 kilometers from Ramnagar city and about 13 miles from Dhangarhi, the entrance to the Dhikala zone. Solar electric wire protects the FRH compound to prevent wild animals from entering the building. Due to the Gairal FRH’s remote location in the forest, an extraordinary sense of serenity permeates the entire area, making it a magical place to clear your mind of all the busy thoughts and revitalize it while you’re here.

Compared to the few other forest houses in Corbett, the lodging at the Gairal FRH is lovely and comfortable. Being a forest rest house, it only provides a few conveniences in its rooms, but the restrooms and rooms are both clean and in good functioning order. It actually doesn’t matter which room you are given because every room has a large double bed and identical furnishings. The three components of Gairal’s accommodations are as follows:

• The Old Forest Rest House has two rooms.

• The New Forest Rest House has four rooms.

• Dormitory has eight beds.

How and When to Visit

From 15 November to 15 June each year, the forest rest house is open to visitors. Due to the severe weather, the FRH is closed to all visitor activities outside of the aforementioned time frame. You must make an online reservation in advance if you plan to spend the night at the Gairal FRH. For Indian citizens, the online advance booking option for the forest houses is available up to 45 days in advance and up to 90 days in advance (for foreign nationals). You must enter the Gairal through the Dhangarhi gate, which is located roughly 18 kilometers from Ramnagar. To enter the park, you must hire a licensed safari jeep.

There is a canteen at Gairal Rest House that serves buffet meals to all visitors. In addition to meals, guests can immediately purchase mineral water from the canteen if they desire snacks in the evening. At the Gairal Forest rest house canteen, no non-vegetarian food is offered.

Online bookings for two old FRH rooms at Ramnagar’s Corbett office and four new FRH rooms at Gairal are both available. Dorm rooms with 8 beds can also be reserved online.
